Pope Annalisa Garners Fifth Book Award

POPE ANNALISA GARNERS FIFTH BOOK AWARD

Los Angeles, December, 2010- Peter Canova’s groundbreaking novel, Pope Annalisa, has won the 2010 National Best Book Award as a finalist in Visionary Fiction. This marks the fifth award in three competitions that Pope Annalisa has won since its publication a few months ago. The book swept the prestigious Nautilus Book Awards, winning two Silver Medals and one Gold Medal in two different fiction categories, and took another medal in the Independent Publishers Book Award.

The National Best Book Awards, now in their eighth year, are presented by USABookNews.com, the premiere online magazine and review website for mainstream and independent publishing houses. The 2010 winners and finalists traversed the publishing landscape: Simon & Schuster, Penguin/Putnam, Rodale, McGraw-Hill, John Wiley & Sons, Moody Publishers, and hundreds of independent houses contributed to this year’s outstanding BBA competition.

“Pope Annalisa is…a great novel with a spiritual bent that doesn’t overwhelm. It reads better than The Da Vinci Code or Celestine Prophecy.” – John Kremer, author of 1001 Ways to Market Your Book, speaker, and noted book marketing expert

About Pope Annalisa
Pope Annalisa is the first book of a trilogy entitled The First Souls. It is a thriller about an African nun who breaks racial, political, and religious barriers in becoming the world’s first female pope. She is faced with terrorism, religious clashes, Western society’s loss of faith, the struggle between science and religion for the human mind, and impending nuclear war.

The book’s sweeping themes have captivated readers and reviewers. The identification of a genuine, lost Western spiritual tradition; illumination of why early female Christian leadership was tragically suppressed; the exposition of a hidden, inner Church, and the incredible convergence of ancient mysticism with quantum physics are a few of the currents rocking the boats of the reading world.

Author Peter Canova notes that Pope Annalisa is “the marriage of a mainstream thriller with a profound spiritual work.” Pope Annalisa predicts the rise of a new spiritual vision that will transcend the limitations of both mainstream religion and secular, scientific materialism. “Ultimately,” Canova explains, “the trilogy is a treatise on the origin, destiny, and purpose of humanity revealed in exciting fictional form.”
