Never give up on love
Sometimes the most beautiful people and experiences come from the most unexpected places. For example, an African American woman named Nancy, from the deep south, became a second mother to me, an outrageous Jewish/Buddhist gal from New York. It was outside of the box, but Nancy and I immediately clicked.
At the time I was sick and homebound, and let’s just say my own mother was lousy. Nancy came into my life at a dark and lonely hour, and offered me friendship and love, and I loved her back. We experienced the kind of familial joy and coziness that we had sadly never experienced in our own families. In a world where we had both grown up with racism and hurt, we were kind and loving and respectful to one another. “I love you, Nancy,” I would say. “I love you right back,” she would reply with a warm and motherly smile.
Sometimes she would stay late and cook my family dinner. My favorite was southern fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy. She would also sit by my bedside while I would rest, and sew a quilt which she was making from all different kinds of fabric pieces. She had saved them through the years, and was lovingly sewing them back together, just like she was sewing my heart back together.
Nancy died of Alzheimer’s around 1986. It was painful because she could no longer remember who I was. But I thank God for Nancy. Even though she grew up in a world of poverty and racism, she was loving and warm. And even though I had grown up in an upper middle class family in New England, I was also a victim of racism because I was Jewish. Nancy’s kindness at a time when I most needed it changed my life. We both understood what it was like to be different.
I guess the short end of it is, if you have not had the gift of good parenting, never give up hope. Be a strong and loving person—no matter what comes your way. You never know when someone else who also comes from hardship and pain might cross your path and love you right back.

Thanks, Sherri. I hadn’t realized that you had taken the AD walk with Nancy. Finding “that” love, indeed: it’s never to late. <3

I think that everything posted was very reasonable. However,
think on this, suppose you were to write a killer headline?
I ain’t saying your information is not good, but suppose you added something that grabbed folk’s attention?

Publicity, New York City is kinda plain. You could look at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they create news titles to grab viewers to click. You might add a related video or a related pic or two to get readers excited about everything’ve written.
In my opinion, it would bring your website a little bit more interesting.
