An Open Letter To The CEO of Time Warner Cable, NYC

July 12, 2010

Glenn A. Britt, Chairman, President
& CEO of Time Warner Cable
Time Warner Building

New York, New York 10023

Dear Mr. Britt:

Owning my own business in NYC for over ll years, I know what it is to service my clients. They are important to me.

I also know that whatever treatment you receive from workers in a monopoly comes from the top down. In Time Warner’s case it is appalling. I have had problems with my service with Time Warner over the last few weeks.

There have been many calls to tech support and out of all of the calls only one woman was decent to me and actually tried to help me. The others either told me they would call me back and did not, tried to intimidate telling me if I wanted a service person to come to my office I would have to pay, from repeating a script which kept saying “I am sorry for your inconvenience, we can send someone over in a week” to “we can have someone get back to you within 24 to 48 hours.” 2 service technicians came to my home. One could have cared less about my problem, the 2nd one was a woman who was lovely.

Time Warner ultimately never fixed the problem. My friend, who works at tech support at the Post Office in New Jersey, solved the problem for me. He happened to be over my house when I had totally given up on Time Warner.

If you were not the only game in town I would change in a minute. But, I ask you, would you want to be treated this way by your own people in your own company?

I have also included some online reviews about Time Warner Cable from others, in case you are interested.

So my question to you is what are you going to do about the service to myself and the millions of others with Time Warner. You may receive lots of awards, but if you don’t treat people respectfully, I don’t care who you are, none of those awards are of any value.

Sincerely,

Sherri Rosen, President
