Surround yourself with good people both in work and in play by Sherri Rosen
Through the years I have realized that by having a great deal of experience, it is so important, to surround myself both in business and in my personal life with people who have my back.
Meaning in business, it’s important to work with men and women who care about what they do and care about what I do. Men and women who work hard, want to do the
best they can do, and their ego doesn’t get in the way of their work and doesn’t interfere in our relationship. People who are creative, passionate and
are willing to work with me until we get it right. For me, it’s taken years to get it right with freelancers I work with, but I must say now, at this time in my business career, I have
the best group of people working with me. From bookkeepers, accountant, blog writer, graphic artist, web designer, research assistant, manuscript editor and advisor, and financial advisor. It didn’t happen over night, but it was through trial and error until I finally found the best that I could find.
Managing a small business isn’t done alone. It’s not only takes my know how, but all of the people that I work with to help make my business a continued success.
As for my personal life, the same thing is true. Through trial and error I have surrounded myself with friendships with men and women who have my back. We have this willingness to except one another as we are and not try to change each other. And, there is this feeling of loyalty to the friendship. It comes naturally, but with a cultivation of honesty in the relationship.
I share this with all of you because I don’t take any of this for granted. I have worked hard to cultivate these relationships and I appreciate them and I know that no man or woman is an island and can do everything alone, at least I can’t nor do I want to do everything alone. So again, I say, surround yourself with good people in work and in play.
And I wrote this in honor of all of the people that I work and play with.
