So How Would Mindfulness Make A Difference In Your Life? by Sherri Rosen
Are you aware of the way you speak to people? Do you have any idea of how you come across to others?
When you are brushing your teeth, are you even aware you are brushing your teeth or is your mind somewhere else thinking of the next thing you must do?
Did you ever sit quietly and meditate, even if it’s for 5 minutes a day?
You would be amazed at how much you would learn about yourself if you took the time to meditate daily. You would find out that you are crazy in your head
with all sorts of thoughts jumping around. If you actually took the time each day to meditate you would eventually begin to understand why
you do the things you do., You would find an inner sense of peace and calmness like you have never felt before.
Haven’t you ever wondered why you keep doing the same dumb things over and over again and the same dumb outcome happens. If you would just
take the time to sit quietly every day and meditate you would begin to learn about mindfulness. Perhaps you would not speak so quickly and hurt someone’s feelings,
or you would see and feel how angry you are and begin to understand why, or why you feel so miserable and begin to have answers of doing something about it.
It takes great courage to just sit and be mindful. Sometimes just sitting and watching and listening you can learn a lot about yourself and others.
So many of us take so many things for granted and by bringing mindfulness into our lives we begin to understand about being grateful. Being grateful
for the little everyday things that happen in our lives.. Someone may smile at you on the subway, a co-worker may compliment you on the way you answer
the phone. Seeing a photo of your family and realizing how much you love them and how much they mean to you. Or realizing how talented you are and finally
stop saying to yourself you are worthless.
By sitting and doing meditation daily and becoming mindful, you will also see you can lower your blood pressure, you can have more control over headaches, you
can reduce the tension and anxiety in your body and become a healthier human being.
So how do I know all of this. Because for many years I was a lunatic. I did crazy things, Hurt people. Said things I was sorry I said. Was always in a rush and had no
sense of peace. So I did begin to meditate and the peacefulness didn’t happen right away. It took time. A long time, and i began to understand about patience for
myself and patience with others.
You may be happy with your life just the way it is. You may be happy with yourself just the way you are. But if any of you out there are like i was, I guarantee you,
