Storytelling on Aging told at QED, Astoria
On Saturday, September 19, I performed storytelling at QED in Astoria. It’s a great place
for storytellers, comedians et al to perform and tryout new material.
I told my first story on “Aging” and what it’s like to personally go thru the aging process.
One thing I’ve realized thru it all is never expect anything to come back with the good you do in the world. You will be in constant pain if you expect people to respond. No Expectations is a good lesson to learn in being alive in this lifetime.
In the past i’ve been ashamed of telling my age and sharing my experience of aging but no more. That shipped has sailed. If I don’ t speakup about injustices than nothing will ever change.
It’s a lie that women have been handed. Saying in our culture that “Men age beautifully and women who age should be ignored. Bullshit!!! We will never be ignored and I will no longer swallow the BS that I have grown up with. It’s all a lie to keep women down.
